Freedom without a new prison
Every route to freedom comes with its own obligations. How do you choose the ones worth having?
An open question, not a conclusion.
A van promises freedom and brings maintenance, parking and weather. A business promises independence and brings customers who need you on a Sunday. Money promises options and quietly asks you to protect it.
None of that is an argument against any of them. It is an argument for being honest about the trade. The question I keep returning to is not “how do I get free?” but “which obligations am I glad to carry?”
